SUMMER IN DÜSSELDORF

Summer slump? Give me a break! Düsseldorf really turns up the heat in summer!

Summer in Düsseldorf is the best time to travel – full of opportunities to enjoy the sunny days and balmy evenings to the full. Whether you’re a fan of water sports, like to attend cultural events or simply want to experience the vibrant city life, Düsseldorf has something to offer for everyone. Here you can find out the best tips for spending the hot months over the summer!

It all starts with a new player in town: the Rheinriff celebrates its grand opening on 10 June. This is a surf hall on the Böhler site, which according to its own information is one of the largest in the world and hits the nerve of the times with urban beach flair in an industrial look. You can try out stand-up paddling, canoeing or surfboards, for example. Everyone else can relax in the beach club or rent one of the numerous sports fields.

Those who prefer the outdoors will find a family-friendly alternative in nearby Langenfeld with the largest water-skiing track (in the world!). Whether you’re a complete beginner or a real wakeboarder, you can also just chill out by the beautiful lake if you don’t want to go into the cool water and would rather enjoy a few drinks at the dignified beach bar. Barbecue sites and huts can also be requested from the organisers.

Skiing in the Snow! Adrenalin kick at Alpenpark Neuss: Another highlight in the immediate vicinity is Alpenpark Neuss. There you can whiz down the mountain on the summer toboggan run or shimmy from tree to tree in the high ropes course. Whether with friends or family, the Alpine Park offers adventures for all ages. And of course, skiing in summer is super invigorating.

From ski trip to boat trip: A boat trip on the Rhine is a great way to see the city from a completely different perspective while spending relaxing hours. The Weiße Flotte offers various boat tours where you can enjoy the passing scenery and let yourself be enchanted by the summer atmosphere. On-board catering is also provided – AHOI!

Refreshing cocktails at Three Little Birds: After an eventful day in the city, a visit to Three Little Birds is the perfect end. This charming bar offers a wide selection of refreshing cocktails and invites you to linger with its relaxed ambience. Here you can reflect on the day and chat with friends in a cosy atmosphere.

Right next door, the summer All-Tours open-air cinema opens its doors again on 20.07. to 20.08.

And for days that are too hot, thank goodness for the Paradise Beach, the Strandbad Lörick and the Strandpiraten! But be careful! The Rhine is not suitable for swimming!

Urban Blockbusters: Düsseldorf is known for its impressive major events that provide entertainment, especially now in summer. Here are some of the highlights, you shouldn’t miss:
