Hotel History
Our hotel opened its doors in 1978 as Hotel Nikko Düsseldorf, a German-Japanese hotel founded in conjunction with the German-Japanese Centre. Throughout the years, our city centre hotel has seen many renovation and refurbishment projects, including a major expansion in 2009 which made it the largest hotel in central Düsseldorf.
In 2022, the hotel became Clayton Hotel Düsseldorf. We are proud to maintain the hotel’s German-Japanese roots and ties to the Little Tokyo area where it is situated, but to also add some of the distinctive service features that have made Clayton Hotels wonderful places to stay in superb locations across Europe.
